House Tour Where can I put my Endless Pool?
Endless Pools backyard installations
- A backyard installation is one of the most beautiful options.
- It is more frequently chosen for milder climates.
- In colder climates, owners usually close their outdoor Endless Pools for the winter. However, if you enjoy being a "polar bear," an outdoor pool can be insulated with as much as 6 inches of rigid foam for year round swimming.
- The standard Endless Pool can be installed free-standing and above-ground, even in a yard. There is no need to do any excavation, unless you choose to do so.
- There is no connection to household plumbing. You fill the pool with a garden hose and change the water once every year or two.
Above-ground Pictures
- One of the least-expensive options for installing your pool.
- The easiest plan for do-it-yourselfers.
- Excavation is not necessary.
- Installation can be faster than for partial or full excavations.
- Makes unwanted pool access more difficult for children and pets.
- Pool's side walls keep debris from blowing in.
- Design of your pool can be incorporated into a landscape design theme.
- A concrete pad, which is recommended to support the pool, may need to be poured.
- You may choose to install extra insulation around the free-standing pool to slow heat loss.
- You may need an exterior step or stairway to enter the pool.
- A fully or partially in-ground pool can be more attractive and accessible.
Partially In-ground Pictures
- Easiest access, because you can sit down on the side wall and then swing your legs into the pool. This is especially good for those with limited mobility.
- An attractive way to show off your pool.
- Pool's side walls keep debris from blowing in.
- Design of your pool can be incorporated into a landscape design theme.
- Partial excavation costs less than a full excavation.
- Requires some excavation.
- Excavation adds to the cost and complexity of your installation.
In-ground Pictures
- One of the most attractive ways to show off your pool.
- Easy access to pool.
- Design of your pool can be incorporated into a landscape design theme.
- Requires more excavation than a partially or fully above-ground pool.
- Excavation adds to the cost and complexity of installation.
- You may need to add our optional stairs to enter the pool.
- You may need to take extra measures to limit access to the pool around small children and pets.
Outdoor Pool Considerations
- We strongly recommend the optional retractable security cover (manual or automatic) to keep out debris and leaves, reduce heat loss, and restrict unwanted access to the pool. The outdoor cover has a lock-down mechanism. It comes with a pump to remove rain water that may collect on top.
- In colder climates, outdoor pools are usually closed during winter months. The pool can, however, be super-insulated and used year-round.
- To save on heating costs in cooler climates, customers with outdoor pools often utilize an optional gas heater along with the standard electric heater.
- If you decide to excavate for an in-ground or partially in-ground pool, you should first determine the height of the site's water table.
- If you provide a sketch of your yard, our architects and designers may be able to offer some helpful suggestions on pool and equipment location, insulation options and installation possibilities.
