Shane Parsons had his life turned upside down at the age of 21 in Iraq, when the Humvee he rode in rolled over a roadside bomb.
Parsons lost both of his legs as a result, and also suffered severe head trauma. While his local Ohio community rallied around he and his mother to upgrade their home with exercise equipment, an Endless Pool and numerous repairs, Parsons still faced a long road ahead.
Eventually, the Wounded Warrior Project stepped in to help Parsons with their Independence Program and helped find him a position coaching varsity high school football.
The Iraq veteran has found new purpose in his life and a perfect fit, transferring the hard work and team oriented mindset he learned as a member of the army to his football team.
