In the fall of 2005, Endless Pools teamed with NBC’s The Biggest Loser to help their season two
contestants lose weight in a healthy environment by
installing a pool in the Biggest Loser gym.
The Biggest Loser is a reality television series in
which trainers work with overweight contestants to lose
weight as they compete for a grand prize of $250,000.
During the show, fourteen contestants — who are
divided into the red team (men) and the blue team (women)
— compete to see who can lose the most weight
and be crowned "The Biggest Loser." Throughout
the series, the teams face temptation and must learn
to eat healthy and exercise properly.
Swimming is a very low impact exercise, making it a
perfect component of a weight loss program. In the water,
your body's weight is completely supported, preventing
most of the common injuries related to land-based exercise.
In addition, because swimming uses more of your body's
muscles simultaneously than almost any other form of
exercise, swimming results in a better overall workout
By integrating the Endless Pool into a healthy diet
and exercise program all participants lost considerable
weight – some lost over 100 pounds!
