House Tour Where can I put my Endless Pool?

Endless Pool Sunroom Installations

  • A sunroom or ground-floor room provides an easily accessible, winterized year-round space for your pool.
  • A pool installation in a sunroom or ground-floor room can lend itself to a wide range of design solutions, from simple to luxurious.
  • The standard, above-ground Endless Pool can fit easily in a room with a ceiling height as low as 7'. There is no need to break through the floor.
  • The pool can be installed in a corner. Access to the sides of the pool following installation is required only when optional hydro-jets, lights or the retractable security cover are installed.
  • We have greatly reduced chlorine odor and effects with our modern copper/silver purification system that comes standard with every pool. Your home will not smell like the local gym!
  • There is no connection to household plumbing. You fill the pool with a garden hose and change the water once every year or two.

Advantages

Disadvantages

  • Allows for year-round swimming in any weather.
  • You can create a unique, beautiful and private custom setting for your pool.
  • Easiest access, because you can sit down on the side wall and then swing your legs into the pool. This is especially good for those with limited mobility.
  • A raised floor can be an inexpensive way to give a partly in-ground appearance. It can also allow for a deeper pool that stands lower in the room.
  • Any needed concrete can be poured while the room is being built.
  • If you choose partial excavation, it costs less than a full excavation.
  • Heating costs are lower than for outdoor pools.
  • If the floor is not already concrete, a concrete pad may need to be poured.
  • If you are raising the floor, your room will need a somewhat higher ceiling.
  • May require some excavation that adds to the cost and complexity of your installation.

  • You may need to take extra measures to limit access to the pool around small children and pets.

Indoor Pool Considerations

  • Pools placed in existing rooms are usually installed above-ground, so there would be no need to excavate. In some cases, it may make sense to break through the existing floor to provide for a partial or in-ground installation, particularly if the user desires a deeper pool. Other customers have built raised platforms around their pools to make the pool appear in-ground.
  • The optional retractable security cover can control 100% of the pool's humidity if deployed when the pool is not in use. If the pool is used less than one hour a day, a simple room dehumidifier or a window fan (available in department stores) is usually adequate for removing excess humidity.
  • The optional retractable security cover also reduces heat loss and has a lock-down mechanism.
  • When filled with water, the Endless Pool exerts an evenly distributed load of about 250 lbs./sq. ft. Concrete floors on grade can generally support this weight without issue. Please discuss any concerns you may have with your design professional and the Endless Pools staff.
  • Locating an Endless Pool above ground floor requires the review of a professional engineer to ensure that the upper-floor room has the structural integrity to support the weight of an Endless Pool.
  • Endless Pools highly recommends that both the pool and Water Quality System be located near a floor drain or that a sump pump be installed. In addition, the area surrounding the pool should be protected and appropriate floor and wall covering materials utilized.
  • Should you decide to relocate your pool, it can be unbolted and moved. Give us a call (866-558-7946) and we will explain what is involved in relocating a pool.
  • If you provide a sketch of your room, our architects and designers may be able to offer some helpful suggestions on pool and equipment location, and installation possibilities.
