Endless Pool Operating Costs

Then Endless Pool's heating and water quality systems. |

The principal expense in maintaining
an Endless Pool is the cost of heating the water.
During installation, the pool should be well insulated.
We recommend at least 2" of foam insulation board
be added to most installations. For additional savings
in colder climates, the pool can be super-insulated
with up to 6" of rigid foam.
While the pool comes with a floating thermal
blanket, our optional retractable security covers are even more effective at preventing evaporation, the
main cause of heat loss.
A covered, well-insulated pool will only lose a couple
of degrees per day. Pools placed outside in warm climates
or inside a greenhouse may need only solar energy to
remain comfortable most of the year.
We also offer optional natural or propane gas
heaters, at extra cost, in lieu of the standard
electric heater. A cost comparison of electric and gas
heaters is available upon request.
Other operating costs:
The water purification system included with the pool
reduces the use of chemical sanitizers such as chlorine
by about 80%. Inexpensive household chlorine bleach
provides the minimal chlorine residual necessary to
oxidize organic residue.
The cost of electricity to power the
swim current costs about a penny a minute, while the
circulating pump used to filter the pool water uses
about $10 of electricity a month.
