Gunite/Concrete Pools

The first step in installing your Wall Mount Fastlane in a gunite or concrete pool is to choose a location for the Swim Unit inside your pool.  For optimal water flow, it is recommended that you allow at least 14 feet between the wall on which the Swim Unit is installed and the opposing wall in line with the Swim Unit.  In addition, the water depth where the Fastlane is located must be at least 35” deep and the Swim Unit no closer than 24” from any adjacent wall as shown in the figure below.

Once a location for the Swim Unit is chosen, the Wall Mount Bracket will be embedded into the pool wall during construction.  The centerline of this bracket will be approximately 1-1/2” above the intended waterline for the pool, which is typically halfway up the skimmer.  The Wall Mount Fastlane is 21” wide.  Consequently, the 21” section of wall where the bracket is located should be straight or nearly straight.  Any variations from the requirement should be discussed with your design representative.  Conduit will then be attached to the Wall Mount Bracket and run through the pool wall, under the pool deck, and back to the Power Unit or the Junction Box.

The Power Unit needs to sit on a solid, level surface, preferably not on wet ground.  It is typically located near the other pool equipment.  If placing outside, it is recommended the Outdoor Power Unit with Weather Guard be purchased, but not subjected to driving rain.  If placing indoors, a floor drain and proper ventilation are required.  In addition, while frequent access is not required, it is imperative the Power Unit be accessible.  Place the Power Unit in the preferred location making sure the hose connections are pointed in the desired direction.  Have an electrician make the electrical connections and test the Power Unit.

Order additional hydraulic hose if necessary and assemble the Fastlane Swim Unit. Connect the Swim Unit base to the Swim Unit housing and feed the hydraulic hoses through the conduit leading back to the Power Unit or the Junction Box.  Be sure to bond the Swim Unit to the Wall Mount Bracket.  Secure the Fastlane Swim Unit to the Wall Mount Bracket, turn the power on, and it's time to swim!
